25–26 March 2026 | Coventry Building Society Arena
TeamPolice attended BAPCO 2026 last week as exhibitors and speakers, joining hundreds of public safety communications professionals at the Coventry Building Society Arena for two days focused on one of the most pressing issues facing UK policing: the wellbeing of officers and staff.
This year’s event theme ‘Promoting Wellbeing’ reflected a growing recognition across the sector that the mental and physical health of those who protect our communities is not a secondary concern, rather, it is fundamental to effective policing. That framing shaped the conversations throughout both days, and the quality of engagement on the exhibition floor reflected it.
On the Stand
TeamPolice exhibited across both days of the event, with Bill Skelly QPM leading the team alongside David Fraser-Darling and Louise Gresham-Cullen from partner organisation XMA. The stand drew a steady stream of delegates throughout the event including senior officers, force leads, and industry professionals many of whom were looking to explore practical approaches to supporting officer resilience and workforce wellbeing.
A Golf Simulator on the stand provided a more informal entry point for delegates between sessions, and proved an effective conversation starter.
Bill Skelly QPM — Theatre A
One of the highlights of Day 1 was Bill Skelly QPM’s presentation in Theatre A, delivered to a full room at 15:40. Drawing on TeamPolice’s extensive experience working with forces across the UK, Bill addressed the real-world challenges of embedding a culture of wellbeing within policing organisations and what meaningful support actually looks like in practice. The session prompted strong engagement from delegates with a lively Q&A that reflected how seriously the audience is taking the subject.
Networking and Wider Engagement
Beyond the exhibition floor, TeamPolice attended the Pre-Event Reception and the Dinner Event at the close of Day 1, both valuable opportunities to connect with colleagues and counterparts from across the sector in a less formal setting. Some of the most useful conversations of any event happen away from the stand and BAPCO 2026 was no different.
Looking Ahead
BAPCO continues to be one of the most relevant events in the UK public safety calendar, and this year’s focus on wellbeing felt timely. The conversations started in Coventry will continue and TeamPolice remains committed to being part of them.
