From the prestigious PSUK Annual Sports Awards Dinner in York to competitive finals in rugby, football, tennis, and cricket, our programme offers opportunities for officers, staff, and stakeholders to engage, compete, and celebrate. Premium events include black-tie dinners hosted by Chief Constables, thought-leadership evenings at Salesforce Tower exploring sport as an employer of choice strategy, and the spectacular Boxing Evening featuring police versus army bouts. Partnership opportunities provide corporate sponsors with unparalleled access to senior policing leadership whilst supporting genuine CSR impact. With events spanning from January’s Celebration of Police Wellbeing through to November’s Boxing Evening, 2026 promises to be our most ambitious year yet in making sport the number one wellbeing initiative across UK policing.
PSUK Marathon Championships 2025
West Midlands Police secured a commanding team victory at the PSUK Marathon Championship in Bath on 12th October, with Jason Bennett (2:35:14) and Tara Malone (3:15:12) claiming individual honours on the scenic railway path course.
Building Resilience Through Sport: An Evening at Salesforce Tower
On Wednesday evening, Team Police brought together officers, staff, and supporters at Salesforce Tower for a powerful conversation about building resilience through sport. The event featured three inspiring speakers—Paralympic shooter Issy Bailey, Met Police PC and former professional boxer Tey Lynn-Jones, and Claire Finn, who has transformed girls’ football participation. Attendees shared moving stories, including a Southport incident responder who found healing through cricket, and discussed how police sport breaks down hierarchical barriers while building crucial support networks. CEO Dave Hartley emphasized sport’s role in supporting the three pillars of wellbeing: physical, psychological, and social health. The evening reinforced why police sport must become the number one wellbeing initiative for command teams across UK forces, because it doesn’t just build fitness, it builds resilience that saves careers and lives.
PSUK Golf Teams Secure Convincing Victories Over Army and Royal Navy
Police Sport UK’s women’s golf teams delivered outstanding summer performances, securing an emphatic 11-1 victory over the Army at St Michaels Golf Club and a convincing 9-3 win against the Royal Navy at Hill Valley, with memorable moments including Captain Fiona Pennie’s hole-in-one.
British Police Cricket Club Achieves Perfect Tour Record Despite Challenging Start
“Despite these challenges, Knight assembled a squad featuring six debutants for his second year as captain, building on last tour’s impressive 75% win ratio. The tour concluded with perhaps the most impressive individual performance when Max Mannering’s devastating spell of 6/53 from ten overs – the fourth-best bowling figures in tour history – dismantled the Army batting lineup. The 2025 tour stands as a testament to what can be achieved when talent, determination, and proper support align – even when the weather doesn’t cooperate.”
